Newly exposed APT43 hacking group targeting US orgs since 2018
APT43, a North Korean hacking group, has been targeting government organizations, academics, and think tanks in the US, Europe, Japan, and South Korea for five years. Mandiant analysts have determined that APT43 is likely state-sponsored by North Korea, and have observed its espionage operations shifting focus abruptly. Spear-phishing emails with fake websites are used to trick victims into entering their account credentials, which are used to further the group’s activities.
