ASEC는 국내 홈페이지 제작업체가 제작한 홈페이지를 악성코드 유포에 활용하는 공격행위가 확인됐다고 밝혔다. 해당 공격은 메일 첨부파일을 통해 시작되며, 웹쉘을 통해 정보를 탈취하거나 원격 제어하는 등의 기능을 수행한다. 침해된 홈페이지는 admin 페이지가 동일한 경로에 존재해 악성파일이 업로드된 것으로 추정된다.
