LockBit ransomware gang now also claims City of Oakland breach
The LockBit ransomware gang has threatened to leak data allegedly stolen from the City of Oakland’s systems, however, there is yet to be any proof that this has occurred. Play ransomware previously claimed responsibility for an attack on the City of Oakland and began leaking confidential documents and employee information online. In response, the City began sending data breach letters to affected employees.
