UK creates fake DDoS-for-hire sites to identify cybercriminals
The UK National Crime Agency (NCA) has created fake websites to identify people using “booters” or DDoS-for-hire services, which allow anyone to take down a website or disrupt operations for various reasons. Thousands accessed the sites, which gathered data on those who wanted to buy illegal services. They are now being warned that their data has been collected and that law enforcement authorities will contact them.
