Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC)은 Facebook이 GDPR 제 46 조(1)을 위반한 것으로 밝혔고, 13 억 달러의 벌금을 부과했습니다. GDPR 제 46 (1) 조는 안전 및 법적 개선 메커니즘이 부족한 국가 또는 국제기구에 개인 데이터를 전송하는 것을 금지합니다. 따라서 DPC는 Facebook의 모회사인 Meta Ireland에 12 억 유로의 벌금을 부과했고, GDPR 위반 데이터 전송을 5 개월 이내에 중단하도록 요청했습니다. 2020 년 7 월 CJEU는 GDPR에 따라 국제 데이터 전송이 변경되었으며, 더 엄격한 데이터 제어 규정이 도입되어야한다고 판단했습니다.

Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) revealed that Facebook violated Article 46 (1) of GDPR and was fined $ 1.3 billion.GDPR (1) Article 46 (1) prohibits transmission of personal data to countries or international organizations that lack safety and legal improvement mechanisms.Therefore, DPC was fined 1.2 billion euros on Facebook’s parent company META Ireland and requested to stop GDPR violation data within five months.In July 2020, CJEU determined that international data transfer was changed according to GDPR and that more stricter data control regulations should be introduced.
