Ukrainian cyberpolice busts fraud gang that stole $4.3 million
Ukraine’s cyberpolice have arrested two members of a fraud gang which scammed over a thousand victims in the EU, stealing around $4.3 million. The group used fake “phishing” sites to obtain victims’ credit card details, and then used them to make illegal purchases. Police conducted searches of their homes, call centers and cars, seizing computer equipment, phones and SIM cards. The suspects are being charged with fraud and organizing a criminal network.
