WiFi protocol flaw allows attackers to hijack network traffic
Researchers have discovered a flaw in the IEEE 802.11 WiFi standard which allows attackers to read frames sent from access points in plaintext form. This enables them to manipulate data transmission, spoof clients and intercept traffic, affecting various devices and operating systems. The vulnerability is related to power-saving mechanisms which do not provide explicit guidance on protecting and limiting queued frames, so they can be intercepted by an attacker.
